I want to go see this new movie...It seems so good! I wanna see it so bad!!!
But Mommy is a little sick...so, it doesn't look like we're going to get to go.
I'm so excited about Christmas! We aren't doing any baking this year, or any big Turkey or Ham because of Daddy's little veggie thing. And I'm not going to get any major presents either. So why am I excited?
Because! You can just feel it in the air. No, not snow. It never snows in Florida silly. LOVE! The kind of love that only a Father who sent His Son to die for our sins can show. Unconditional love. That love.
Not the, "Oh, wow, thanks Aunt Tabitha, I love this new sweater." Not that love.
And not the, "I love my boyfriend, Tommy." Not that either. Because you only love the sweater until it snags and you only "love" the boy until he dumps you for the new girl. But the Father loves His children for ever. And that's amazing.
And you get a little taste of that love watching a new mother with her baby, or watching a young couple on their first anniversary, or even better, an older couple celebrating 50 years. Yeah, that's amazing too.
And what amazes me is that anyone could feel that love for me. That a God who watched His child die could still love the one whose sins His Son bore.
"Amazing" doesn't begin to cover it.
And right around this time of the year is when people start celebrating the birth of that Child. In a smelly old manger, born to a virgin. There were loads of miracles just in His birth. And then in His life, and His death, and His resurrection, and in our lives. The miracles He's blessed us with.
That's something to celebrate.
