:: Twiddle Dee and Twiddle Dum... ::
No school tomorrow. FWEE! A day off for Nina! It rocks.
No Praise Band practice today, though. Pfft.
My doggie had a bath. She hated it, but she needed it.
Verse of the day- Luke 10:26-27. "He (Jesus) said to him, 'What is written in the law? What is your understanding of it?' So he answered and said, 'You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength, and with all your mind,' and 'your neighbor as yourself.' "
This verse pretty much sums up the Ten Commandments. They get much more specific, of course, but back then the Ten Commandments were the law and if you read a couple verses back you find out that the man Jesus is talking to is a Jew, a man of the law. This man knew his stuff. The man goes on to ask Jesus to define who his neighbor is. Jesus tells the story of the Good Samaritan. Very good reading. I like this verse because it sort've outlines the Christian faith. We talked about it in Sunday School today. It's a great verse to use if anyone ever asks you, "What does being a Christian mean, anyway?"
Well, I'm going to go. I've got dog duty tonight. And real quick, I wanted to explain than when I referred to my mother as Slave Driver Mother the other day, it was just for the purposes of the story. She isn't really a slave driver. And I love her very much. :)
