:: Watermelon! Watermelon! ::
Guess what? My awesome piano teacher gave me a new song to learn today...wanna know what it is? Come on, you know the tune. Hear it all the time...Give up? It's Fur Elise! Yeah! Ha ha, I'm so special! I feel so...advanced, you know? Cause I'm not just playing that one little bit that everyone knows, I'm gonna learn the whole thing!
I played through it three times already since my lesson and it took me half an hour, just to play through it three times. But I'll get the hang of it. YAY! :)
We had our state-wide assessment testing junk today, the writing stuff. I think I did okay, but I about fell asleep towards the end of the third section. It was SO BORING! And our classroom was like this icy tundra because the lunchroom controls the air conditioning for our building and people were in there cooking.
Time for a verse! Well, more like a passage. Read Psalm 73, it is very very good but it's long and no way am I typing all of that up. I went a little overboard with that one passage out of Matthew; the one about not worrying. This time I'm going to give you important snippets from the chapter. Verese 12-14:
'Behold, these are the ungodly, who are always at ease; they increase in riches. Surely I have cleansed my heart in vain, and washed my hands in innocence. For all day long I have been plagued, and chastened every morning.'
So it's saying, look at these people who don't know God. Why is their life so good and why is mine so hard? Why do I have to work? Is it even worth it? Life would be so much easier if I could just not have to bother with all this God stuff. I don't know about you, but I can relate. I want things that I don't need, I see people who have them, and I want to be like them. But they don't have God, they aren't really happy. But part of me still wants to be them. Then we skip down to verses 25-27.
'Whom have I in heaven but You? And there is none upon earth that I desire but You. My flesh and my heart fail; But God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever. For indeed, those who are far from You shall perish; You have destroyed all those who desert You for harlotry.'
So this is saying, in the end God wins and when you have God on your side, you win. And it is worth it. By ourselves we fail. But with God, all things are possible (Matthew 19: 26). God has no equivalent on Earth or in Heaven. And if you aren't near to Him, you're a goner. We don't need al these Earthly treasures. Life doesn't have to be easy, because we've got God.
