:: Aroint thee! ::
We're reading Macbeth in L.A. (Language Arts) right now. Tis lots of fun. Did you know that "aroint thee" meant "go away" and "rump-fed ronyan" , and I'm not sure about spelling here, means "fat-rumped scab"? And "anon" means "at once". It's so cool. I wanna talk like that! It would make life so much more...interesting. You know?
Hie thee hither! I think that means "come here" or "hurry over" or something.
Macbeth is kind've...bloody. We're actually taking turns on who gets to read what part and at one point I was reading the part of the "bloody captain" in Act One, Scene Two. Yeah...it's great.
Wanna hear a verse? Here ya go! Romans 12:1-2 says, "And so, dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice-the kind He will accept. When you think of what He has done for you, is it too much to ask? Don't copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will know what God wants you yo do and you will know how good and pleasing and perfect His will really is." That was the New Living Translation, by the way.
And here's the New King James, of you want it. "I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God."
BarlowGirl's motto is taken directly from verse 12: "Do not conform, but be transformed." It's on all their merchandise, pretty much.
Alas! I must depart, for my eyes doth droop with weariness! I doth bid thee fair eve and I shall see the in the morrow, do my many duties not require of me every moment of the sun's light. Farewell!
